2019 Triton pulls from EC

Mitsubishi will be giving their 2019 Triton a long overdue mid cycle refresh, which launched just a few days ago in Thailand. They will however sell the one ton midsize truck in 150 countries around the world. It incorporates the new Dynamic Shield design language that has debuted on the Eclipse Cross. Have to admit that the styling does lend itself well to the platform.

We could use one of those here in Winnipeg.
Where trucks and Semi's are everywhere.

Does Mitsu have a Minivan?🤔

The updated Triton looks great with the refresh. Was a smart move for them to borrow design cues from the Eclipse Cross. In foreign markets Mitsubishi does offer the Xpander and Delica, but unfortunately nothing for NA.

Establishing sales in South American regions would be a great start to eventually selling something state side.

Always been a fan of Mitsubishi products but they're like VW and don't do well at understanding market-specific needs/wants.

Mitsu has many vehicles and form factors that are not / have not been released in all markets. Much like the Triton/L200, there's the L300/Delica - which also got a recent refresh and is sold in APJ.

Sadly (soapbox incoming), only China and Taiwan have the new Lancer. All other markets get bupkis.

Here in Oz, because we are right hand drive like Japan, there are many Delica's on the road as they import the used vehicles from Japan where there is little or no market for them used and simply replace the engine which is usually the only thing in poor condition. You see many a boy racer driving a high powered Japanese coupe which was imported from Japan. Mitsubishi Australia, when it was alive, built many of our product range for the Japanese market but with different Japanese style names. The Verada (also sold in the USA in left hand drive) was known in Japan as the Super Saloon. Only the Japanese...
