Greetings

Hi,
After many weeks of trying to register I have finally managed to get on board. Something not working correctly with the Register system which kept going round in circles. Anyway here now.
In May I traded in my Mitsubishi ASX 1.6 Diesel 6 speed Manual Gearbox 2x4 for an Eclipse Cross 3 4x2 with 6 speed Manual Gearbox and enjoying being back behind a smooth petrol engine once again.
Looking forward to taking part in the Forum and reading the different experiences of Eclipse Cross ownership.

Owned S type Jaguar for 10 years and now on my second Mitsubishi, having recently replace my ASX ZC-M-DI--D with a Eclipse Cross 3 4x2. Atlantic Grey.

I would love to know what the ratios are for each gear in that 6 speed. The only transmission available here in North America is the CVT

Hi Inuvik,
The above address should give you the information you require. Hope it works.
I think the ASX model in the UK is known as the Outlander Sport in the USA, I had it for 2 years and it was a very good car, It had a 1.6 Diesel engine which gave a very good performance and MPG It also had a six speed manual gearbox very similar to the Eclipse Cross with a very good feel to the gear selection process.

I'm not so keen on automatics, as I enjoy the gear changing action, so pleased that Mitsubishi offer the manual version in the UK.

Sorry Inuvik, I have posted the wrong information regarding the gearbox ratios. The UK site used to have all the ratio information for each model, but unfortunately have recently change their format, no longer giving the gear ratios as before. Hopefully I will find out the details shortly and get back to you. Had hoped the cars Handbook would have the details, but no, it does not.
It is 13.04 here.

Thank you very much! Here are the ratio's for the ASX/RVR/Outlander Sport:

Transmission Model: F5MBB
Engine Model: 4B11
Transmission Type: 5 speed, floor shift

1st: 3.833
2nd: 1.913
3rd: 1.333
4th: 1.028
5th: 0.82

Reverse: 3.583

Final Drive Ratio: 4.235

The jump between 1st & 2nd is substantial and with only a 18% overdrive the ASX/RVR/OS is turning 2700rpm in 5th gear at 62mph / 100kph. It's a hoot to drive with it's gearing and eagerness to rev. Thanks again for the info. I plan on keeping this OS until the wheels come off so a 6 speed transplant would be a awesome upgrade.

I wish a sportier version of the Eclipse Cross was available.
A while ago someone did renderings of an Eclipse Cross Evolution and done right, I think Mitsubishi can sell enough of them and of course get us some impressive gear ratios.

Hi Inuvik,
Thanks for the information as I was considering a new ASX 1.5 Petrol, ( known as an Outlander Sport in the USA) though having got used to the nice manual 6 speed box in the Diesel ASX, the 5 speed in the Petrol was not so appealing.
However I'm very pleased with the Eclipse Cross and its manual 6 speed gearbox, which I believe is a further development of the gearbox in my previous ASX.
The car is running well and very happy with it.

It's always great to hear positive feedback like that which helps anyone looking on that hasn't bought one as yet.

Would you want Mitsubishi to make any changes/upgrades to it in future model years?
