Hi, newbie here.
Done 500 miles (reg'd 6/2018 as demo). Manual. Just cant get on withthis A S&S. Don't like the idea, so I turn it off when I remember (can this be done PERMANANTLY??).
However sometimes I forget. Only on 5-6 times ina month has the A S&S kicked in when stationary (ie engine stopped):sad: - takes me by suprize and I use the key to restart, panicking !. It should work/restart, when I dip the clutch - yes ? It doesn't.
Seems to be a fault then. First service in 6/19. So annoying

Take out engine start/stop function switch, put tape around the switch, engine start/stop function is always disabled even after restarting the engine.
Worked on my Eclipse Cross ;)
So no more annoying engine cutting during stopping at a red light for example.
Put engine start/stop function switch back in place

I would also like a way to disable it permanently.

What I do is to press firmly on the brake. When the auto-stop operates, if I want to have the engine ready to go, I ease off on the brake ever-so-slightly. The engine restarts, but the car remains braked until I take my foot off the brake fully.

mine operates (starts up) when you depress clutch - obviously manual. Nothing to do with brake. Surely this can be turned off Someone said "obd port" …??
Apparently if the demister is turned on, this will cut off stop start, but then the air con is also on. When you turn engine off I assume you would have to turn on demister again, so not a permanent fix...duh

Hi castle96, ok, let me try to describe to you how this can be done the cheapest way. Cut a small little cardboard small enough to slip into the gap (just one side will do) anywhere around the S/S switch. This will result in making the switch at a permanently 'pressed in' position. i am currently using this method. One less procedure every time i start engine...lol.

Boy am I glad we don't have this on my model in Oz. My partners Subaru XV/Crosstrek has it and I hate it. Luckily, there is a switch on the dash that you press to disable it for that drive but it can't be disabled permanently either.

Interestingly, I did see the ASG option pop up on my centre dash display the other day after I disconnected and reconnected the battery but I couldn't make any selection of the option. It seems to have disappeared now.

I dont get the logic behind the software in our EC. No option to turn off the start/stop by default, nor any option to start ECO mode by default.

I wish I could get ahold of the software myself and start rewriting it. It is described as 'Open Source' but where is it available?

Hi dopeyOne, pls. could you also provide link to the TaoBao shop where to buy this cable. TaoBao is Chinese site without any ability to change language and I am not able to find anything related to the deactivation of S/S. I will appreciate it, it is incredible not to be able to turn the functionality permanently off. Thks

You could try some of the TaoBao agent sites (below) that are in English but their fees and postage seem a bit rich. Might assist in finding the item and then pasting it into TaoBao. As Alibaba owns TaoBao and AliExpress you may be able to find it on AliExpress as well. The Alibaba site may also have the item but it is catering for bulk purchasers wanting large quantities of an item. Minimum order is listed in the products description.

Zarbs thank you for provided urls. But I am not sure what to look for, if it is "Mitsubishi S&g cable" or "Universal start stop cable" or something else. I am not able to find anything related to this. I thing that this cable should be specifically built only for Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross due to the connectors used. So the direct URL to this product (cable) on TaoBao of Aliexpress or other Chinese e-shop will help.

Just browsing an EC threads on myforum.com and DopeyOne is a member there with 115 posts. So he is probably a Chineses speaker. This is a Singaporean site and their version of English can sometimes be unusual to decipher. I use to work in Singapore at times and they have their own quirks. Try to contact him through that forum as he seems to interact more there.

Hi Hi, sorry for the truancy...lol.
wat i did was, i copied the TB URL link and gotten a local purchase platform to help in purchasing overseas products.
Through this method, it's easier because all shipping and procedures are taken care of.

i have attached the direct link to this item in TB.https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?ut...ue&short_name=h.V0tiRio&sm=1e517c&app=firefox

i also tried copying this link into the English TB link which Zarbs provided earlier.

It would probably look like this:

@zarbs and @dopeyOne, thank you very much for the information provided. Currently I am able to find this product on the shop (engtb.com) but not able to order it. During whole process I am facing the following error 支付失败 (this means Payment failed), but I don't know why. I am from Slovakia (Central Europe) and as a European Union (EU) member we have to follow EU's rules related to digital payments. So this could be a reason why I am not able to pay by Master Cards (I have tried two different cards gold and classic) on this shop through Chinese PacyPay payment gateway. May be 3D secure protection caused this. I really don't know. Boys have you any experiences with ordering form engtb.com out of China or other Asian countries? @dopeyOne how do you order it? Are you from China as @zarbs has written (or guessed)? I hope that this is not a way how to lose all my money from both accounts by using Chinese payment provider :(. Thanks

I found the following today by pure luck:
https://www.imoney.my/articles/taobao-shopping-guide

This might help us in navigating the site for purchases.
And hi pcapkovic. Although im not slovak, I also live in Slovakia and own a 2018 EC and would love to get my hands on one of those cables too. Maybe two. One for reverse engineering. This should work on the ECO switch too.
How much are they listed for in Euro? How much is the shipping? Probably cheaper ordering more than one for shipping if the price of the cable is a fair amount.

Boys, finally I was able to process payment. After many tries of using cards and trustpay method (because this is Slovak company providing specific payment gateway) I was able to pay by Paypal using the same card witch was unsuccessfully used on Chinese payment gateway. @mtgtnt final price of the product was 17.79EUR (charged). So I hope it will be delivered (soon :)).

Some more searching and we now have a video installation:

Interestingly, I found this cable end plug in the blank plate on my right hand drive EC when I pulled the plug out of the dash to install my LED lightbar control switch. Didn't know what it was then but this video explains it. Very glad they didn't introduce it on the Australian models. My partners Subaru is a PIA to drive with it.

Boys the cable arrived on Friday it took approx. 2 weeks from ordering and processing on the middle finger's side (the extra shipping costs needs to be payed). Installation took 15 seconds and it works well. If you want to order this cable there are the costs:

Original URL: Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross S&G deactivator

Ordering URL: https://www.engtb.com/item/603653346313.html

You needs to have account created and after arriving the product form Chinese supplier the state needs to be changed manually and extra shipping costs needs to be payed for shipping to destination country!

Cable: 17.79 EUR (including shipping to middle finger)
Shipping: 5.21 EUR (to Slovakia)

Thank you for your help boys.
