How does the 1.5T in the EC perform in relation to the 1.4T in the Cruze thus car?
The Cruze would fly to about 80km and then have very little power until the turbo was ready again. I used to let off the gas when accelerating to let the turbo spin up again then hit it which seem to make it work better. Also I put plus or super fuel in the Cruze as that would make it very fun to drive. The Eclipse Cross has a smoother acceleration throughout the RPM band which I like better. Also I burn regular (89) gas which is cheaper. The only thing that bothers me about the Eclipse Cross is the transmission. The company that make it does not seem to have a very good reputation for what I could find. But only time will tell.

In my country those Cruze 1.4T's are deceptively quick for a compact car. I almost purchased one as I always liked them. I had the previous model (pic posted in the previous ride thread) and I loved it. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we parted ways on a sour note.

Concerning the EC transmission. I hear you loud and clear. It's a Jatco Xtronic CVT which Mitsubishi calls INVECS 111 CVT.

Once you change the transmission fluid and filter on time (not drain but flush or remove the oil pan), you should be fine.

Would love to see some highway pulls on an EC vs a Cruze. I'm sure the Cruze will come out victorious.

I plan on keeping the EC for a long as possible. So doing what is needed for maintains will be a priority.

If the EC and Cruze were stopped at a light the Cruze would eat the EC for lunch off the line. At the same time the EC would take most small vehicles with short acceleration. I love small turbo charged engine for coming off the light or passing on the highway. I only thing is for city driving they will not win any prize for gas mileage.
