I am thinking about getting the grille.

The frosted section above the chrome on a bit of my grille has been chipped off and it's impossible to paint match it, this might be the fix I need.

Anyone know if there are any cameras and or sensors embedded in the grille?

Ever get the feeling that you are the only person left on earth?

At the risk of talking to myself, what are peoples thoughts about the grille in my second post?

I think I have found a way of getting to Australia, however, combined with our pitiful exchange rate and freight costs, it won't be cheap.

Would you put one on your EC?

Thanks for your reply.

I agree the price is over the top, however, I have noticed that prices on Aliexpress are also becoming extreme.

The chinese workers have awoken and are demanding better wages, immigration to the cities from the rural areas has all but stopped, this is causing labor shortages.

$500AU for a Mitzi replacement grill, about $620AU for the HasePro grill delivered to Aust and as I don't pay Aussie GST tax on car parts, I will get $62 back after it's delivered.

So the prices are not that dissimilar.

If I get the original grill the problem of the frosting stuff being chipped and or wearing off will just continue, no issues like that with the new look grill.

I check AliExpress every now and then and find that the prices on items can vary by as much as 150% depending on the store owner. As an example I picked up the front bumper garnish for AU$54 with free shipping but found others as high as AU$181 plus shipping cost just for the front pair of trims. Like anything it pays to research the item and compare prices. The front garnish on the Japanese site is around AU$415 but looks to be a one piece like the USA genuine Mitsi version.

Saw nothing that I would want on the Japanese site that I couldn't get on AliExpress.

I just bought a new Mitzi grille, see how I go replacing the old one this afternoon.

Seems like the chrome bars come off from the frame, they are screwed on.

I will take them off the old grille and plastic dip them black.

Well, that wasn't too easy.

Remove the air filter bit.
Remove the plastic cover.
Remove the top clips on the grille.

Then the problems started.

The bottom section of the grille has plastic female slots where a male bit of plastic clips into.

Getting the male clips parted from the slots was a nightmare.

I phoned the dealer to find if there was an easy way of doing it, they didn't have a clue.

Using a huge screwdriver I prodded each clip until the one on the end finally gave way.

Then pulling that section away from the car, I went through each clip and was able to pull it out from the grill area.

It actually pushes in from the front, however, it can't pull out the same way due to all the clips.

I removed the screws on the old grill, however, I was wrong in thinking the chrome bar would just come away, it doesn't. I will leave that to another day.

Cleaned all the dirt and crap when the grill was out, good as new now.
