Trying to stop the auto fuel economy resetting after I turn off the car, want to know average fuel consumption for tank. Reset on the 7 inch display under vehicle information, fuel economy (little red indicator goes out) and on the information display, but always resets to auto reset when I restart car.

MY19 Eclipse exceed AWD

Hi Kevin,

I must admit I have never checked this but what you describe happens with my Exceed as well though my average consumption figure displayed in the right dial does not reset to zero. It remains set at the figure reported at the end of the current trip even after the 4 hours has passed. I'll keep an eye on it and see what it truely does over the coming days and weeks...
I am talking about average fuel on information display between RPM and speed gauges, average when I just drive down the street after overnight break at around 54L/km, improves as I drive, but I would like to show average since last reset, not last 4 hrs turned off.
Haven't had luck looking into settings like this myself. Spoke with your dealer yet?
Hi Kevin,

I can confirm your findings and after searching on another Mitsubishi forum I have found that this is nothing new. It has been a known issue for over a decade depending on the model and version of the software. Seems this is how it works regardless of what the settings screens alludes to. Pity...
thanks
Will check with dealer
thanks
Will check with dealer
It would be good to know what the dealer thinks Kevin, as it would be good if you could get a long term average fuel consumption figure without having to note every fuel filling event and then working out the average fuel consumption. I used to do this in the past, though I no longer do it, but suppose I should.
I have not looked or checked the vehicle information app, and wonder if it saves any details of the vehicles overall fuel consumption.
Dealer will check on my "free" 1,500km service, vehicle information has an option to turn off auto refresh, askes if you want to change and says changes saved, but back on after restart.
Unfortunately the EC seems to have a lack of "B" average MPG just like the Outlander Sport (OS). My Mirage has a "B" average that remains until you manually reset it. The only way to accurately track your mpg's is to fill every time and record the mileage and fuel used. Kinda a bummer.
Been to dealer told could not change even though there is menu item that turns off auto reset and confirms on screen that it has been turned off
basically a built in feature that does not work in Software Version U

@oldsalt - Here's more ammo for you with Mitsubishi regarding software versions KevinG has it as well...
Bit of a mystery.

To save going through all the posts, who has version U

What's yours zarbs? If U can you post a photo of it please?

Also, KevinG if you have U can you also post a photo please.

Why would Mitsubishi deny that there is a version U
I doesnt work in O either. It reverts to the 4 hours no matter what.

Mine is new 8 weeks old, but dec/2018 stock, exceed AWD
My exceed is Dec 2017 build, however, I bought it in April 2018.

When you buy them with a build date near the end of the year, the dealers will say it won't effect any future sales/trade price as it's only a few weeks away from the new year.

That's until you want to trade it, then they say it's ONLY a 2017 model, not worth as much.
Thanks Kevin, as you may now be aware, Mitsubishi have finally acknowledged that there is a U Version, however, it has not been released to dealers as an update.

Someone on another forum asked me if I had predictive lines when reversing, I don't. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9lkl1x03

Does the only available update, version O add the predictive lines feature or is it only with version U?

What are the differences between O and U?

This software updating of the head unit seems like a dogs breakfast, I hope they don't expect us to buy a new EC just to get the U version lol.

Have predictive lines in the reverse screen mode and in the Multi-around mode overview as well in U on my EC. I've read in the workshop/technical manual that you can also change the colour of the vehicle shown in the Multi-around mode view from the standard silver/grey...

Must be version U features?
