It's part of the park button and only lights up when the car is being chargedStrange... never had this problem

This is normal behaviour:I have just joined and I have a problem that has been bugging me for some time. I have an Eclipse Cross PHEV, and on going out to my garage after the car has been off for sometime, I will hear a continuous 1 second beep coming from inside the car, and while this is happening the green LED park light is on.
Mitsubishi said it is to do with the 12v battery charging, but I fail to see the need for it to beep during this process, if indeed this is what is happening.
Has anyone experienced the same or know what is happening?

Page 3-22 of the Australian Owners Guide:
"The auxiliary battery is automatically and periodically charged using electrical power stored in the drive battery. A buzzer in cabin sounds while the auxiliary battery is being charged."
