Car stuck in parking brake maintenance mode

15720 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Willisjamaica
Hi guys I have a 2018 Mitsubishi eclipse cross with EPB. I turned on the maintenance mode using the switch method . When I turn on my ignition. The red parking brake light is flashing and the yellow is still.

The dash says parking brake service required.

I tried to turn on / off the parking brake button but all I hear is the actuators working. It does not Reset the mode

Parking brake button is blinking too

I cannot get my car out of maintenance mode.

Any help would be appreciated.

So right now the red light is blinking and the yellow light is not. The dash says parking brake service required.

So is my car in maintenance mode or no?

Because the post also says if you press the parking brake button, it should come out of parking brake service mode...
I am not familiar with this procedure however curious as I plan on servicing my EC myself...
What I have notice is you saying that you turn on ignition, I am assuming you done this before taking vehicle out of mentainance mode... now if it is that maintenance mode disable the park brake actuator from accidentally activated when vehicle is being work on ( must be some mechanical action) hence if you should turn on igniton the park button would not work as the park brake marchanism would be disable .... I doubt battery disable or reset would undo this ...so as zarb said .. the procedure would be the only way to re engage park brake mechanism.... so place back vehicle into mentainance mode and undo then start vehicle. I will do some check see if I can see how it operate then give advice.
