Dual usb port for stock smartphone link system

Anyone know where I could get a replacement dual usb ports with the cable that connects to the factory system? I have been searching for weeks and I am unable to find anything. I have an es model but bought the system out of the se and sel model. I replaced the microphone and that works and I don't care about the touchpad but I cannot find the usb ports. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Japin. In Australia we only have the Smart Display Link system and the USB adapter part number is 8718A042 and the double connector cable is 8755A168. This diagram shows the setup in the console and part numbers should be the same worldwide:

1001

The double headed cable needs to be connected specifically in the back of the head unit to cater for the smartphone connection (top of the picture):

Check the web for these two part numbers. They shouldn't cost too much...

I have been gathering part to make this conversion... however usb cable are difficult to find and are too expensive... I have choose to use an alternative usb cable ... the subaru cables are similar except for side notches.. which I plan on removing for it fit... after I received i will confirm that they work.
$90 oem versus $10 subaru alternative

I'm in the process of installing the genuine Mazda CarPlay upgrade in a Mazda CX-3 and the USB cable inputs to the head unit look the same as the EC (keyed sections on each head unit are the same) but they are specially keyed to match the port configuration of the dash unit. On the dash one is CarPlay and 2.1A (with a smartphone icon on the dash part where you connect the phone) but the other is lower power. Keep this in mind with your install as the ports may be power specific and require a certain amperage cable to support charging and data transfer between the dash and the head unit. Lower power for your CarPlay/Android Auto connected phone will see your phone connect and disconnect regularly as there is insufficient power to do both on the port in use. Not all ports and cables connectors are alike.

Yea i am aware of that info ... but as soon as I receive i will test n give my results
Please let me know if any of these cables work. It is almost $200 for a cable and another $22 for the dual usb port from the dealership.

I am in the process of adding CarPlay/AA to a Mazda CX-3. The cars firmware supports it but on this model in Australia Mazda didn't include the cables and USB hub capable of the power requirements. List price is AU$420 but got it from a dealer on eBay for AU$310. The cables are the expensive bit. The hub not so. Many of these systems are manufactured by the one company and the cables are identical across all incarnations. Those in the EC have identical ends to the Mazda version at the head unit end. Haven't bothered to check the console end on the EC. I can't see how they justify the steep price for these cables even though they are proprietary.
Ok good news the cables from aliexpress works ....some modification to fit.... i am not sure how to post pics.
Subaru usb cable $9 cables work perfectly with android auto
Total of 20$ spent for hdmi + 2x usb cables.
A youtube video will be uploaded, showing proceedure n what to expect.

Great news. Always good when someone reports a cheaper method. Enjoy.
I ordered 2 of them based on your first post I figured for $8 why wait. So I'm glad they work with a little modding. I should have them soon then I can finally use Android auto. Thank you again!!

I don't know what I did wrong but everytimei plug in my galaxy note 9 it doesn't work. I tried both cables and both ports but neither of them work. I need to try another phone actually.

I had issue at first with an s20 and had try another phone but same result... I believe it was showing some error message ...however if the phone reacts an give an error message your on the right track.
First verify that the time and date on both devices are correct otherwise android auto handshake will fail ... also if your phone is not updated to latest Android auto connection will fail (especially Samsung phones) mainly Android 10 n up due to wireless feature implementation and Google and Samsung conflict but its sorted out now.

Latest phone dont display Android app in app tray however you can search and it will pop up then u open it and check all setting as it relates to permission and initializing.
But the cables adapter do work... so check that none of the 4 pins are bend by pull out and visually check... other change usb cable use to phone as they are lots of poor quality and most are just for charging only..

Let us know the error message your getting to advice accordingly..

It says "USB connecting error has occurred."

It also sometimes says, "USB device could not be recognized. Please disconnect the USB device."

The pins are not bent and my modifications to the cable and the port were successful.
