I have an Eclipse Cross 4 and seem to have an irregular engine stop start system. Coming up to lights i slow down and stop with the brake pedal held firmly down but the engine remains to run.
I might go another ten miles do the same thing and it works, however it does not seem to work when the 'Auto Stop' is engaged. Am I missing something here. Thanks

Hi All
I have the same problem. Drove for ages but still no activation of the system. I can switch it off and it temporary lights green and flashes on start up until I put my seat belt on then light goes out and that's the last I see of it. Doors shut, seatbelts on. Bonnet and boot shut. Drive around with no other accessories on for an hour but still no show. Any ideas before I take it back?

There is a list of many factors that play into start stop to activate or not depending on the vehicles options.

Outside temp
Climate control (Vehicle interior set temp is reached)
Engine is warmed up
Battery is charged
Windshield is not fogged up
Hood is closed
Driver's seat belt is fastened
Foot is on brake or car is in park
Steering wheel is not being turned

If you find that all of these are met and it still does not activate, have the service center check it.

In addition to mtgtnt list, if you have the demister set to windscreen only for fast defrost or demist, this cancels the Stop/Start function also.
Note:- mtgtnt does mention in the list above, Windshield not fogged up.
My car has a manual gearbox and if you touch any pedal the engine will start up or remain running when coming to a halt. Feet clear of all pedals when coming to a halt, and as long as the above list is okay, then the Stop/Start system should operate.

Hi everyone,
I also have a problem with the Start Stop system.
I have a Mitsubishi ECLIPSE CROSS 2019, twice replaced battery with warranty.
It was fine and now not normal again (same as it was on the first day)
a few questions:
1. Does the manufacturer know and there is a solution to the problem?
2. Is there a letter on the subject?
I would love if there is any document get a link or email [email protected]
Thank you all

Is your problem that the car won't start because the battery keeps draining? It would seem odd to get two bad batteries in a row, so another battery certainly isn't the solution. I also have a 2019 Eclipse Cross SEL and never had an issue starting it.

Okay, I was just confused when you mentioned that your battery has been replaced twice under warranty. In the U.S. we don't have the start/stop feature so we wouldn't see any technical bulletins.

Now, if the battery replacement did fix the issue for a while, but then the problem returns, it might be your charging system isn't charging the battery completely and eventually will want to be in a constant state of charge, keeping the auto stop from engaging. That's going to require some very specific diagnostics.

Hi @BENYAMIN DAVODIAN,

There are other threads in which the AS&G system has been discussed. The AS&G system is very dependant on the battery health for correct function. Below are the criteria that must be met for the stop function to be engaged. Note the battery criteria:

Automatic transmission:

1072

Manual transmission:

1073
