Looks like carbon fibre like adhesive roll. I used the same stuff on my trackpad cover and it was very easy to get a good clean finish. I also used it to cover my aircon control module as the plastic versions one the web all cater for the LHD version of the console and none fitted correctly. The adhesive went on easily and a little heat on the rounded edges assisted in a bubble free finish that look the same as the stick on plastic add ons I have for the outlets above.
