As I posted in another area I had an accident in my EC which ended up costing £5k to repair and I was apprehensive about my insurance renewal due in early May despite have 'No Claims Protection'.

Well the renewal came through and it was up by £33 from last year @ £230 fully comprehensive with Protected NCD (3 claim limit) so well happy and didn't bother shopping around as the claims experience was excellent and it includes a free Green Card and 90 days EU cover (for when we eventually get out of 'lockdown')

Just wondered what others pay around the world for the same car, EC Edition One?

I think insurance premiums are a little different in the U.S. I have a near perfect driving record -- never had a moving violation and only one chargeable accident and that was over 40 years ago -- and yet I still pay ~$800/year with a $500 deductible. It would be like comparing apples to butterflies.

@Lunatic59 Actually the 'deductible' is somewhat the same, but your 'premium' is around 2.5X what I pay at current Forex rates and I have been driving 50 years now. Whilst I agree the comparison is somewhat difficult, it is interesting to see the differences around the globe as everyone in the UK complains about 'high' insurance costs.

My premium for the first year on my EC Exceed was AU$510 or ~US$362 (~£291) on the current exchange rate. That's with full no claim bonus and AU$850 Excess (deductible) for any claim. It's due for renewal end of May so I expect them to try to hike the premium but I'll wait and see.
