And a happy 2020 to you and yours. May the year be a fruitful one...
Thank you Zarbs.
It seems very quiet on here these past number of days. Hope you and other Australian members are not affected by these bush fires, as they look very bad indeed.

We are safe here at the moment but we have friends on the south coast who have lost their home to the fires there. Another life long buddy, living in the same area, and his wife are lucky so far but they are still holding their breath. Thanks for the concern. Our volunteers are working long hours to protect homes and lives.

A happy and prosperous 2020 to all.

Zarbs, my brother lives in southern California, so he's no stranger to wildfires (and earthquakes, drought, etc.) He's been evacuated on several occasions, but luckily they haven't suffered an losses. Let's hope you get some rain soon.

Yes, very familiar with CA weather. Worked for Apple for many years and worked there at different times of the year. Still in contact with many friends in the San Jose and Sacramento areas. Some of my fave wineries were burnt out with the latest fires in Sonoma and Napa regions.

We are currently being affected by the warmer sea temps in the Indian Ocean which normally bring our rains across the country and cause the wet season for Darwin and the north west. Temps are starting to cool in the ocean and the wet season will be late arriving but it is on the way. We will then see rain bearing systems move across to the east coast. Forecast is for good rain this month but probably too late to have any positive effect on the fires.
