Is the vacant headlight slot for the top of the line only? because I noticed that the projector lamp is the only one having the LED..

THank you.

As far as I have seen here in Australia, the outer lens of the headlights is just a dummy with no bulb in either the halogen or the LED lights. My Exceed (top of the line) has LED lighting and the outer is empty. Checking the back shows no facility on the unit to add a bulb to the headlight in that space.
thanks for the info. they could have at least placed a facility to add bulb or at least utilized both lens for hi and low.
thanks again for the info. have a great day!

Hi. I just want to ask you, does the tailgate lights illuminates? or just for the top of the line only?

Thanks!

Hi,

One of my questions early on also. I have seen the US model demoed in dealer videos and has the full tailgate lighting but here in Australia it is non functional. From my reading of the parts description the lights are fitted but disabled. I have searched the net for any info but have come up empty handed.

The Mitsi Multi-Use Tester (MUT) III (their diagnostic system) is where such things are programmed and from what I've read it can be enabled with this system but the MUT Tool is around US$5000 and then requires a subscription to be able to use the system. This is something only open to authorised dealers I would assume. How it's done may come out in time.

I was reading a VW forum where you can buy a product called ODBEleven that allows you to change everything on a range of VW vehicles. An Android app, evidently, that links to VW cars...
It's odd that they disabled that in Australia and here in Qatar. That tailgate lighting is one of the other things that defines the EC. I will receive my EC on sunday I will try to open the tailgate and check what's happening inside. I hope something will come up soon on how to enable the tailgate lighting and to use the outer lens of the headlight.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate the infos that you gave me.
