Hi folks hopefully I can get some advice here before I book my car in to Mitsubishi. Cut a long story short had to jump start my eclipse cross, and now my heads up display isn't popping up on start up or even when I press the button. I've tried looking though manual doesn't seem to be a fuse for it or anything in the menus in the car. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @Leeboyyy30. Unfortunately the HUD system is tied to the ECU and there is no method available to the end user to reset the system. The only available fix is to have the service centre connect the MUT tool to the OBD port and check for any error codes on the system and then attempt to reset the system using that tool. If this fails replacement of the HUD is the only other listed option.

Any other system having issue? .... the open button and illuminated background lights should work even if hud malfunction...so more like blow power fuse... its fuse #15 in ETACS ecu, however i believe others system uses the same fuse ... so if it's only the hud unit having issue then a reset would be necessary...... did u try disconnecting battery again ... this time allow vehicle to sit and complete it system checks.
Button control wires goes straight to hud unit except for 2 data wire and 2 background light wires

My auto Hill start seems to be the only other thing affected. I haven't tried a to disconnect the battery again, how long would I leave it disconnected? I have booked it into mitsubishi to get it checked out but if its an easy fix I'd rather do it myself.
I appreciate your reply, thanks man 👍

Ok... I think u need to do a battery disconnect..... disconnect battery for 15mins, connect battery again then power up system (not start) wait until all check lights on dash gauge either go off or settle (some check lights will remain because it can only be check when engine on) .... then start engine and let it sit for atleast 15mins idling ..
Make sure AC isn't turn on, do not turn steering nor operate any functions like windows, wiper blade etc. ...
Likely rpm will move irratic especially at cold start.... let it work out its parameters.... after 15 mins try operate the HUD, and try trigger hill start.
When battery is disconnect n reconnected system carry out test... if not given chance to complete test n written protocol for detected hardwares/units then ETACS ecu will behahave as if these parts doesn't exist/equip and will not send power to unit to function.
