Hello everyone, I got my eclipse cross -2019 5 months ago from the Agency (mitsubishi dealer) -brand new- and whenever i hit the 80kph and above I start hearing wind noises from the left top window side, I checked the agency (dealer) and told them the rubber from the door or windows is leaking or something, they checked it up and found nothing, then he took a ride with me to test it and told me that noise is due to Aerodynamic and that's how the car was designed.
anyone has a similar problem if so what's the solution ? it's really making me stressed.

thanks for reading.

Welcome to the Forums @Hussamaboud

I have a 2019 model and find it whisper quiet in the cabin at all speeds. No wind noise that is. I do have slimline weather shields added to all exterior windows which does offer a bit more noise protection though.
Thanks for the reply Zarbs.
prior to the slimline weather shields, were there any noises ? or the dealer is messing up with me ?
I have a 2019 SEL with the sun roof (touring package) and I, too get no wind noise when the windows re rolled up. Even with the sunroof open it's not that noisy. Now, if I open the driver's side window(s) and get over 60 mph I get all kinds of wind buffeting noise, so on the highway at least, I'll usually leave the windows up but the roof open.

then I guess that the dealer is fooling me, right ?
I would say that a dealer answering a question about a non-safety related noise is always going to say "they all do that" or "It supposed to be that way" or "I don't hear anything".

As for the noise itself i can think of a few reasons. One, the window frame is slightly bent so permit wind at higher speeds leaking in the door/frame seal. Two, the window doesn't close completely because the gasket either has something stuck in it or has been pinched. Or, and this is just to cover the bases, the door or frame is out of alignment due to an accident. Did you ever look up the vin # history?

I totally get that to around 80 on the highway, you are not alone. Been like that since it was new. It’s not the end of the world but you do hear it and it’s annoying in a new car, I get it

I got it brand new, 0 mileage. and I am the first owner. so i doubt that, i triple checked all seat and windows gaskets.

yeah I feel you, car's safety is good and so is the engine, I am thankfull.

But I can't really enjoy my rock songs playlist :( .

I only had the bare windows on the drive home from the dealership after pickup, around 80kms, and did not notice any noise issues. The first section of the trip, about 30kms, was freeway conditions at 110kph. I fitted the weather shields the next day before driving the car again.

Ah, I missed that. Sorry. But it could be possible that something happened during transport from the factory. In any case, I can't say I've noticed any excessive noise at highway speeds.

Now, with safety being your PRIMARY concern, when you are driving at a speed where you hear the noise, if you put your hand near the window, can you feel a draft? If you push gently on the window does the sound change? If the answer is no to both of those questions, then it's not from the window/door. It could be a loose cover on the wing mirror or a small gap in the roof rail cover that's causing the issue.
I have a 2019 sel and i also notice wind noise around the windows at speeds over 65 mph. It's nothing too bad but i would say it louder than past vehicles. I think it's just the design and construction of the vehicle. I don't think it's necessary a flaw or a defect. I think it's just that every car has a 'wind sound'.

Hya everyone on my EC (4) cvt awd uk spec I’ve no wind noise at all. At Various speeds.
Can you try another dealer for second opinion. Or car body shop check alinement of body .
Hi Hussamaboud,
No problem here either with wind noise. It could be the front door window frame needs adjusting to meet up with door cushion seal on the body of the car. A good body shop could do this for you. Sometimes pressure applied to the top area of the window frame, can be enough to ensure the frame is making perfect contact with the door surround seal, but really it is best left to an expert to do this type of adjustment..
Or it could be that the door needs to be rehung in the correct position, this to ensure it is evenly pressing tightly all round against the door seal when the door is closed.
Here's hoping you can find a solution to the problem, as it can be and indeed is a very annoying issue.

I'll go one more time to the Mitsubishi Agency here.

I didn't go to the Agency yet because of the partial curfew in my country, but I noticed something as the picture attached.
the roof gasket is loose and is stiff and has ups and downs while it's not fixed to the rail itself, anyone knows if that can make a noise ?

Hi Hussamaboud,
Hya everyone o.
'll usually leave the windows up but the roof open.
sry for this , but this is the only way to get you to read my last post and attached photos.

Pls advice, thanks
That is a little different to my as it is fitted with black roof rails, but probably a similar gasket and fixing arrangement. They seem to be firmly fitted with no movement so difficult to know whether they could be the source of your problem.

I have had my dealer investigate my claims that my driver's window doesn't stay fully closed 3 times, so far! When I hear noticeable road noise, even at 30mph, I press the window control to confirm it is closed. It always quiets the noise temporarily, but it soon reappears! The dealer simply tests the switch and says everything is fine?
