USA Expat Living in Slovakia. First New vehicle and first Mitsubishi. Owned a Europe only 2008 Kia Ceed SW for the past 8 years. Still sitting for sale because people hate imports even though it was made here in Slovakia, sold in Belgium, then brought back here and sold to me. Wife wont drive it (too big.. me rolls eyes).

The main reason I signed up is to maybe have more advanced word from other owners about software updates. The no door lock after certain speed is a large miss my Mitsubishi. The options were down to Honda and Mitsu and if I would have known this, I probably would have gone to Honda. But, overall I am happy. Just hope they get this addressed in next update. I see a lot of people complaining about it.

Welcome to the forum and to Mitisubishi! The lack of this basic safety feature is a poor oversight, but hopefully one that can be addressed with software. There are plenty of other lock options under the vehicle settings.
Kia still has some work to do, but they do few things right. My SO picked up a Soul years ago and its been serving her well.
In the sporty category they're definitely lacking.

Welcome!
Welcome to the community. Mitsubishi has never offered auto door locking on any of their vehicles, with the exception of unlocking when shifting into park. They did have kits however to enable this feature in the past, so we could see something similar for the EC.
Kit? Wouldn't this just be an option in the software already there? Seems it would be a very simple addition. I can only hope. I still havn't remembered to lock the doors.
8 years of auto locking at 40kph and while staying over 40 will re-lock if you try to unlock has gotten the mind lazy to do it manually.
There might need to be additional relay's/actuators placed to allow auto locking. Havent found one specially for the EC, but I did come across a kit for the Delica. https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/awesome-japan/item/sr-doorlock-mi004/
Mitsubishi are not aware of how important is the feature that the doors are locked automatically after the car starts moving!!!!!!!
It is more and more important as time goes by.
The fact that Mitsubishi never had it before is not an answer! Please apply this feature, and the sooner the better!!!!!

Our only hope is that safety regulators take a more globalized approach where safety standards are the same regardless where you're located.

That way brands like Mitsubishi will have on choice but to comply and make said changes.
