Hello Eclipse Cross owners. Our '04 Odyssey's (284,000 miles) tranny died. Too costly to fix and not worth it, so we had to enter the crazy pre-owned market. Yikes!. My wife and I went on a two-day car-buy binge. We tried all the top-rated and then some: a CRV, a RAV-4, Mazda CX-5, and others in a $20,000 tops price range Each was a letdown. My wife needs a high seat and a comfy one, and each of those failed in that department. The Mazda's front seat in ten minutes for me felt like concrete. The RAV-4 was muddy in handling. Each had way too busy, and in my opinion, ugly, dash designs. I never owned a Mitsu so never considered them, but one popped up in our price range. On our way to look at a Buick Encore (way too small and uncomfy seats and ugly dash, again), we had nothing to lose. Well, the '18 Eclipse Cross ES was love at first sight. We loved the color - Metallic Bronze - but most importantly, it passed the wife seat test. The test drive was great. The car was quite peppy and the steering precise. The dash was understated (is how I would put it). We are not into every electronic thing and were happy with the basics. The car rides nicely high enough, the view of the road I like, and I like that it stands out in the looks department. So we're looking forward to squeezing everything out of this like the Oddy. The reviews for this car were not great, but the cars with the great reviews weren't great as far as we were concerned. The Eclipse Cross seemed just right to us.

Welcome @sawozny :)

I fell in love with Mitsubishis 20 years ago when I stumbled upon a Montero Sport in "Desert Tan". Had 'em ever since. And I can confirm that they excel in the seat-comfort area. I looked at the models you listed, too and my take on them was pretty similar. I hope you and your wife enjoy the EC as much as I (still) enjoy mine.

Hey, thanks. Wow, I didn't realize that Mitsu is being bought (or merged.) The Bronze Metallic is really sharp. The car's looks is a standout - kudos to the engineers. They designed a car to be aesthetically pleasing, which is the exception, these days, not the rule. The ride is distinctly comfortable. Puzzled by the negative reviews (I read the post on that here.) Guess the pro reviewers are under a spell.

Yep, Mitsu is under the Nissan-Renault roof now.....the Outlander is the first to jump into the fusion/hybridization (LOL)......I am wondering what will happen to the Cross and the Montero/Pajero lineage......many here are long time Mitsu owners/users actually......I am happy so far with the EC, an able & reliable SUV in a small package....:)
