Hope this is the right place to post this?

I have a USB rechargeable strip light - see pictures - I want to attach inside the boot/trunk.

I tried with an adhesive velcro strip attached to the hard plastic on the inside left of the boot/trunk (the other part of the velcro stuck to the rear of the light strip) but it keeps falling off!

Obviously, I don't want anything permanent that may damage the plastic. Would some type of magnetic tape be ok, stuck in the space on the back and then 'married up' to the corresponding piece of tape stuck to the side of the boot/trunk?

Rear of strip light:

1358

Front side:

1361

Any suggestions appreciated.

You might try the magnetic metal strip method. We have similar strip lights (see pics below) that we use in different places around the home and garages but not in the car. The ones we use have a metal case and come with a magnetic metal mounting plate that has an adhesive side that sticks too the wall or flat surface. The adhesive is enough to grab but not permanently stick to the surface. The light then just sticks to the wall mounted plate. Our lights charge via a USB C connector and can be on, off or motion activated and can be found on eBay and AliExpress. They come is several sizes.

That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. These light strips came with a magnetic tape/metal plate originally but I've used them elsewhere. Will see if I can find spares. Thanks.

If you have any friends that work in a sheet metal shop they should be able to grab ya a drop with no issue. From there just some paint and double sided sticky tape.

Could also go to a local hardware store like home depot, or something like tractor supply company, they usually have pretty small cuts of steel plate in several different thicknesses.

I sorted it! Found a rechargeable light strip on Amazon that has stuck fine (so far). is removable - magnetic strip - & works on motion detection.

Link for anyone interested

When I attached my led strip light to boot, I just used construction tape, and it perfectly fixed my led strip where it was needed. You need to try to do the same, if it doesn't help you anymore, you'll have to use glue, and you'll still damage the plastic, but for that, you'll have everything done. It's already your business. But I advise you to use construction glue or, better yet, tape to fix this thing. I hope I have helped you if you have any problems or questions, it's better to write to me in private messages. I will help you. Good luck to you!
