It's an option in the settings menu of the screen between the gauges.

Anyone else notice this? I like the beep better it just sounds different to me

Yes found it sometime ago. Its also a bit louder than the clicks, so you don't forget to cancel the signal if it fails to do it itself.

Yep, I had this setting with my Outlander some years back and was unhappy to find the Pajero/Montero didn't have the same functionality. This was the first thing I changed in the car park of the dealer when I took delivery. Makes it much easier to hear over the noise of music and traffic. I changed a few of the parameters in the Settings menu to suit my tastes/needs.

I tried the beep for a few days, but it drove me crazy. I'm much happier with the click.
