Then, once you've selected your model, the options begin to kick in if you want AWD as shown in the build table first screen. The cost grows quite quickly once you select options. The benefit of this is that these options are usually dealer fitted and can be added at a later date whereas in Australia, for example, the model options are set and nothing can be added once the vehicle is delivered except for dealer fitted options like towing pack.
Interestingly, many of the tweaks that I have added to my EC after purchase are options for dealer fitting in the USA like chrome detailing of mirrors, door handles and tailgate elements. Also you can get a carbon grille if that takes your fancy. Strangely, the top model in AWD has rear parking sensors as an optional addition.
