Hello i have a mitsubishi eclipse cross 2020 model 1.5 cvt 2wd and i can hear a sound like a high pitched sound while the car is idle (in P) and the engine is running which is not stopping. The car is idle and the sound is not the sound of the turbo. The sound cannot be heard while inside the car (windows up) only when outside.

Hi Stavros, a bit more info might help us assist. If you lift the bonnet/hood is it possible to pick up which area off the engine bay the noise is coming from? Is it around the pulley/belt section of the engine or somewhere else? Does the sound dissipate or disappear as the engine warms up or after it has been run one a road trip and then placed in park? Let us know and we may be able to provide some feedback. In all such cases a dealer service centre might be able to diagnose the sound.
Is it more like a squeak? (belts rubbing) a buzz? (metal vibration) or a whistle? (Vacuum leak)
A slack belt driving the Alternator or the like? Or is the noise from the CVT Gearbox area?
It's just the electronic Wastegate nothing to worry about
