Mitsubishi’s Nissan Qashqai fighter first debuted in Europe at then Geneva Motor Show and now the Eclipse Cross is set to throw down the gauntlet once more in North America at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Though we won’t know what the U.S. spec Eclipse Cross will be offered with until its LA debut, we can look towards its United Kingdom twin for a general idea. Already on sale, the UK buyers has a choice of four trims and three are simply labelled in numerical order.

An entry-level Eclipse Cross 2 already has a substantial list of standard features including a rear view camera, auto headlamps and wipers, lane departure warning, forward collisions mitigation and more. As previously stated, the next trim up is the Eclipse Cross 3 version followed by the 4. Then there’s a First Edition that will most likely be limited to those in the UK as it was first released in celebration of the Eclipse’s launch.

Available powertrains include a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 163hp and 184lb-ft of torque, and a 2.2-liter turbodiesel. The latter most likely won’t make an appearance in North America. On the bright side, CarScoops says a petrol powered Eclipse Cross will start around $21,000-$22,000 in the States.

The LA Auto Show will be open to the public on December 1st, but international press days starts on November 29 so our wait should be a short one.
