Hi Have a 2019 1.5 4 Cross and have noticed, even this time of the year, while the out-side temperatures are above 20 degrees C that the Automatic Choke kicks in.(well I think it,s the choke) This happens all the time. It only lasts for over a minute.(1500 revs then dropping to under1000) Older cars that I have driven usually would have this happen once after the initial start.
It,s going for it,s second service Monday week so will mention this as well as the Stalling Problem, which I have read about on here.Mainly starting off at junctions in 1st Gear.. stalling at least once a day. I,ve been drivng over 35 years, both petrol and diesel and never had this problem on a daily basis.

Many Thanks.

Hi Gerrymac,
There is a software fix for the Stalling problem, which applies to Manual Gearbox transmissions cars only. Had this applied to my car 14months ago, which fixed the problem completely. Like you I have driven for more years than I care to remember, and found this quirk very annoying. However, I can assure you that the software update cures the problem completely.
Don't be fob off by the dealer, saying its a characteristic, its not. There is a fix for the problem.

Hot for us today in the west of Scotland @ 26*c, with the sun shining from a clear blue sky. Just in from the garden cutting back some over hanging branches. Its too hot to work, for me anyway.
Hope all goes well with the service and they do the software update okay.

Hi Gerrymac,
Did they do the software update for the throttle control unit, to cure the stalling problem. The engine stall problem is the subject of a Service Bulletin, and should be a straight forward fix for any approved dealer to apply and improve the performance of your car. The fix is like a night and day transformation and eliminates the stall problem completely.

Hi,
Apparently they didn't find any issues with the stalling problem. The software must be all good. Trying to book the car in for the FCM Recall with another dealer so will mention it to them.
Haven't really driven it since the service cause of isolation but will next week.

I think you will find the update has not been done. They would not notice this fault on a test run, as they would not recognise the problem as such during a normal test run around the block...

Hi, wondering what they said about your over rev? I recently purchased a eclipse cross 2019 1.5 automatic in October. In recent weeks on colder morning my car rev’s are hitting 3 and not changing through the gears, this lasts for about 2 mins, then it begins to works properly. I had it in for the recall today and asked them to look at this, so wondering what there explanation was to you?

Hi,
As far as I remember they said it was how the car was built .So with that I doubt anything can be done about it. Mine was over-reving everytime I started the car, even in the summer.
Just living with it now..as for the stalling...not as bad just having the odd ones and even when stopped at junctions/lights when engine stops with foot off clutch/brake !!
Hope you get sorted.
