Hi everyone.

I have been trying a few rapid charge stations.

One in particular won't "release" my car after a charge. This is extremely frustrating as I can;t pull out the charge cable and quickly get on my way - I remain tethered to the charger!!!

Whilst I understand this is a problem largely with the charging companies software (I had to call them - they remoted in to the station and released me)... on the last occasion nobody answered the call and I was left there..

And it's an extremely frustrating problem delaying my charge session and ruining the whole experience to be perfectly frank..

A guy in a Tesla next door came to help and immediately asked me where the software disengage button was in the Eclipse

I have no idea even if there is one on the Mitsubishi Eclipse PHEV for this situation

Is there?

(I drive the current model PHEV)

Thanks!

If you have been charging the vehicle while it is unlocked, you need to lock the vehicle and then unlock it and the charge cable should be released.

Hi @AANZ, if you could please share a link to the Eclipse Cross PHEV manual that would be muchly appreciated. I can't find one online anywhere.

As for the charging stations, I had a rapid charger plug stuck to my Eclipse Cross this past weekend and after calling ChargeNet for help, I had to unlock/lock/unlock to release it.

Ok thanks - I will try this..
Seems kind of weird though!
I mean of course I was charging the vehicle whilst unlocked.. I was in the car doing some work whilst waiting for it to charge... I am not in the habit of locking the car whilst stationary - I'm not that paranoid!

Who would have known to do that!!!!?

Is this guaranteed to work everytime, because I'm not risking it again till it's absolute certain.

Yes guaranteed to work. When I am charging the vehicle at home in the garage, and I need to do some shopping, if the vehicle is not fully charged the cable will not release unless I lock and unlock it.
