I have this insane rattle in the rear of the car. Only over bumps, but I can’t locate the issue. Any ideas?

Could just be a piece of trim that wasn't seated properly. If you can replicate the sound your dealer may have some ideas as to the cause.
You've lifted the rear floor to check for loose items in the spare tyre compartment, right?
My leather seats vibrate causing the leather (facing lol) rub together resulting in an annoying noise.
If its just one of the panels then odds are the dealership won't both looking at it, but investigating for yourself where its coming from and stuffing the area with foam might be a solution.
I think I’ve found the culprit. I adjusted the rubber stoppers on the rear lift gate. That seemed to help a bit. I wonder if the lift gate wasn’t sitting right when it was closed causing it to rattle?
I also have the same problem, but when the car stays in the sun the noise disappears. I think it's not the tailgate but rather inside its lining. I disassembled it but found nothing that could vibrate and make noise. It annoys me a lot. has anyone solved it?
Check your back seatbelts. Was driving me nuts. There is a holder for them by the seat and that was it. The buckle was rattling.

no, noises come to me from the trunk door, I think
Do you have the cargo cover extended? I have a feeling it also causes some noise when going over bumps.
RESOLVED! The cause of the noise came from a poorly tightened screw in the rear spoiler above the rear window.
Just remove the rubber plug on the corner of the luggage door and tighten the bolt.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Yes I have. Does it sound like the plastic interior tailgate rattling each time you hit a bump especially a big bump? I took my tailgate apart also and put some extra sound deadening in between but still there? So I am going to check your spoiler fix tomorrow to see if it could be my issue.

Kevin 96K, also check the pressure caps that secure the spoiler well.
in total five bolts (two on the sides of the trunk door behind the rubber plug and three under the plastic cover of the rear window wiper).
Let me know if you solve, thanks.

Hey do you happen to have any tips to remove the rear roof spoiler I've unscrewed the 2 screws from the underside of the boot when open and found the 3 plastic clips but i can't seem to still get it off! is the any other bolts screws holding the spoiler on?
So, there are 2 screws at the ends of the tailgate covered by a rubber plug and three screws under the plastic cover of the rear window washer and three white pressure inserts. After that you have to force a little and the spoiler comes free.
Do everything carefully. I put very thin rubber strips (2mm) between the screw seat and the tailgate and then I sealed the plastic pressure inserts with silicone.

Hi, I own a 2019 EC and I have the same issue. I just deassemble the rear spoiler, I was 90% sure it was the issue, but at my surprise, the rattle sound is coming somewhere else. I also deassemble the rear hatch shocks without succes. FYI they are 5 bolts that hold the spoiler + 3 plastic clips. Did you finally find the root cause? I will have to ask someone to drive the car while I try to find where the sound is coming in the rear by myself.
I did a few check without success, remove the spoiler, other trim etc... Any new comments on your side? Thanks!
