Hi, I have just purchased a 2020 Eclipse Cross and got all the bells and whistles installed on it but am having an issue with a really loud whistle coming from the room racks. I have taken it back to the dealer and they stated that this is natural but I don't believe it is as I can't even drive with my sun roof open as the noise if very annoying. Has anyone had this problem?? Please any help would be appreciated.

Do you need to have it on the car for say daily or weekly use Nole. Sometimes when the rack is loaded with cases etc., that cures the problem, but agree its not a solution.
Would it be practical for you to take it off and only fit it when required, Or would that be too much hassle. Also roof racks etc,. do effect fuel consumption in a negative way.

Ok so it sounds like it is a usual thing to happen. Wish I would have known that before I purchased genuine mitsubshi ones but meh you live and learn. I will take them off and only use when going camping etc. Thank you so much for your advice.

On my other Mitsubishi's in the past I found that moving the actual bar forward or rearward on the roof rails sometimes helped as it repositioned the rail in relation to the air flow and the noise was lessened. It can be a fiddly process to get the right location though. Interaction with an open sunroof section can play extra havoc with wind flow and sound generation as well.

I had this problem on my outlander. I did not fully it resolve it but I coiled the bars with bungie cables which helped a lot. The noise is made by the smooth surface creating resonant frequency so when you foil the airflow with coiled bungie it's hard for it to hit resonant frequency.
