I've just noticed 2 of what appears to be some kind of socket in the boot/trunk of my 2018 Eclipse cross - a little plastic thingy pulls out and the socket is inside, one on each side of the boot/trunk.

What are they? Am I missing something or just being dense?

The sockets are holders for the retractable sun shade if you want to store it out of the way , presumably while hauling something taller.
