Hi all Has anyone come across problems playing music from a USB stick . i thought i would put all my music on the stick and play it in the car but unfortunately nothing happened.
just getting the message (connect USB device. ) 2018 Mitsubishi eclipse cross. hope you can help. thanks

How is the USB stick formatted? It probably has to be formatted as FAT32 for the car to recognize it.

sorry no idea. used straight out of the box .Samsung 64gb 3.1. works on all my home stuff.

Owners manual says to connect the USB stick to a cable adapter and not to the port directly as damage may occur. I've not used a USB stick on these ports only an iPhone via a lightning cable.

Hi guys thanks for your help i took the advice from lunatic59 and reformatted to fat 32 now plays in my car. thanks again lunatic59.

Yeah, Samsung loves to throw digital monkey wrenches. BTW, if the stick is a traditional one that sticks out an inch or two, please get that cable as the location of the ports will make it very easy to damage the port or the stick, or both with a simple bump. Personally I use a super compact USB stick to hold all my podcasts, but when I insert it into the dash, it's almost flush with the port.
