What colour is the lower bumper exterior silver trim??

5303 Views 22 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  zarbs
I have a 2018 build eclipse cross (grey)

Of course, the paint code is on the build plate.

However - there is non-chrome silver coloured plastic closest to the ground on the front of the car, and this colour is very different to the paint colour of the car (and seems to be the same in all models). E.g. the silver strip below the grill below the number plate in this photo

Mine has some chips from driving, and I'd love to touch them up.

I can just buy a generic 'silver' paint pen, but does anyone know what paint code or colour it is?

I see no reply to your question. I have been looking at this part of the bumper as part of my prep to add a nudge bar. The part is actually removable by taking out the clips along the back towards the underside engine cover. The front presses on with clips. The unfortunate thing is it looks like this part is not painted but is, in fact, a coloured moulded plastic part (probably a black base) complete with the colour embedded in a gloss plastic overcoat (the silver colour). The workshop manual lists the colour simply as "Material Colour" which points to it not being painted. The finish is gloss plastic so I suspect it is fully moulded plastic.

The best you can do is find a close colour in a spray pack as I doubt there is a colour available.
Try the old nail polish trick.

Photograph the colour, go to kmart etc and try and match it. You may have to buy a second nail polish color to blend to get it exact ie: white/black

Knock off the wife's nail polish remover and if you make an error, wipe it away.

Thanks all for the details. I'll try some generic silver touchup paint
The nail polish trick is just a good and it has the advantage that if you are a bit heavy handed you can remove or reduce any touch up blobs with a quick wipe of nail polish remover rather than the thinners alternative which will remove all of the patch paint. Light application of the nail polish remover just removes small amounts if you are quite sparing with finger pressure.

Long lost post rehash. Anyone wanting the colour for the silver finishes on the EC specifically the lower front and rear bumper, as well as the coloured strips on the lower door panels, the colour has a code AC11169 and named Sterling Silver. I found it when I was on a local site ordering my Red Diamond touch up paint pot. Comes up as used on there Lancer as well.

Hi Zarbs
Just purchased a MY20 Eclipse Cross Exceed and was wondering can you share where you purchased the Red Diamond touch up paint. Local dealers don’t have that colour.

Thanks for any help.

The company is located in the Five Dock/Burwood area of Sydney:

https://www.touchuppaints.com.au

Follow the Start Your Search button to find the correct colour. They have a number of repair kits available and the top coats and primers as well. I have used them previously to make up a spray pack of Alpha Romeo Red for my partners Monza GT. I haven't received my touch up pot as yet...

Will check them out. I was also wondering whether the Red Diamond colour is the same for 2018,2019 and 2020 exceed models.
@ Ecco, in the UK Red Diamond was only offered on Edition One initially but 'customer demand' made it an optional extra for £815 a few months after launch, colour code is MITS P62

Thanks in Oz it is AUS $940 option on 2WD.

That's around £495 so nearly half the UK cost so why when it's painted on the same production line.

Amazes me when I read the different costs for the same item around the world.
The red diamond is $595 USD here, that's like $900ish AUS so pretty similar to Oz. Our pearl white is only $395 USD.
Thanks zarbs

Yes, The same P62 paint code worldwide for all models. Same cost for this paint option on an Exceed AWD as 2WD.

Thanks zarbs. I actually ordered my touch up paint from the Uk Chipex. https://www.au.chipex.com/
Hi guys
I just received my paint kit from the UK and can confirm it is MITS P62 colour.
Luckily I have no paint chips yet to cover up 😃

I had 2 on the front edge of the bonnet (Hood for those in the USA) both were about 1.5mm in diameter and round. You could see the primer so they stood out. It looked like the top coats had literally detached from the primer.

I love the red diamond colour but I knew when I bought the car I would have issues like this. Not much you can do but to touch up the paint chips as best as possible. When you know its there your eye always sees that paint chip. shrugs shoulders.

We could do with 'Bonnet Bra' to protect that front edge from stone chips

Which kit did you buy (size wise)? Their web site lists a couple of versions on P62 and the prices vary between the colour list. One is $70 for the platinum kit and another is $119.95 for the same kit but a different version of P62 from their list.
