I guess we just have to be glad that what Mitsubishi gave us, on what are entry-to-mid level cars aren't anywhere as bad as what Lexus guys have to deal with. Even on Lexus product sold in 2019, the infotainment system feels 5+ years behind
My EC is far from entry level, it's the top of the range with a price to match $42,000AU

Hi to all,

New to the forum. My 2019 EC Exceed is due for delivery this week and I have been stockpiling some accessotries in readiness. I bought these struts of eBay and they came with two bolts and washers for the bottom connection (see pics).

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/For-Mit...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648

They're from China but 40% cheaper than the ones listed by oldsalt. The pics of the location are a little clearer as well but as oldsalt found there was no instructions in these either.

I'll get more involved once I have the car delivered. Also picked the red but I'm in NSW here in Australia. It's replacing a MY16 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed. Cheers for now...

Hey, welcome again. Not sure if you're only interested in cosmetic pieces. But I did notice you mentioned you've had Mitsus for a while now. And since you're in AU - why not have a talk with Dave @ RPW about his thoughts on the Cross.

I trust that guy and his shop with anything Mitsu, and he does have a ton of R&D done on Mitsubishis dating back to the 90s.

Here's what he has by way of ASXs and Outlanders. Mind you, the CVT in the Cross is pretty much the same POS as that in the ASX - only newer. Internals are pretty much the same crap it's been since they started rolling them out in 2010.

I fitted my Hood struts/dampers in around ten minutes. If you install them you'll know they're right if they are in a straight line from hood to fender. If they are at an angle then you need to swap them over. Not a hard install really. The hardest part is cutting the sound dampening pads to allow the dampers to move freely. I got on a sewing machine with my covers to sew some black bias binding to the cut edge as the insulation inside the pads tends to spill out everywhere. Looks more professional as well. You'll need a thick needle on the sewing machine and a heavy thread plus thin down the insulation at the edge to make the sewing thickness less...

Mine is at the 30K Euro mark ($47kAU) and that does not include AWD and leather.
We cant even get the heated steering wheel, bug shield and a list of many other options other places can get.
I hear you. During my research before buying the EC I checked Mitsubishi's websites around the world for views of the car. Seems every geo has different names for their model range of the EC and vastly different levels of availability of interior and exterior trim. Even the brochure in Australia has pictures of the lights either side of the high level stop light on the spoiler being illuminated (even shown in the banner of this site) however I can only find a reference to these lights in the US version of the Owners Manual. Everywhere else the local Mitsubishi model doesn't have the functionality. It would be interesting to see if there component is installed but either not wired or disabled in the CAN bus.

Also things like lower bumper trims which are available in the USA are not even available elsewhere. The front lower bumper of the USA model is also different along the bottom painted edge with a small indentation to allow the front trim to sit flush to the corners of the bodywork. Hence the reason I didn't buy this trim to fit it to mine like I did on the tail of my EC. These trims are on the accessories list of the USA web site.

Seems like the local importers are keeping some of these refinements to add to their later releases like the MY20 model. Here in Australia the accessory items sold by Mitsubishi are minimal and, speaking to the dealer rep on the day of delivery, most dealers are sourcing accessories like the bonnet protector sold in the USA for fitment to clients vehicles as many buyers here want it. She rolled out a booklet with what was available but the prices were well over what I paid on eBay or AliExpress and from my experience the trim pieces are an excellent fit and finish...

With my EC purchase I moved from a MY16 Pajero/Montero Exceed model and there is a noticeable difference between the CarPlay of there Pajero and the EC. The EC CarPlay has more defined selection highlights because of the touchpad integration of the EC. Much better as feedback and nicer on the eye. With the display being so far away from the driving position the touchpad is a very workable solution. I can't imagine reaching out that far all the time to get access to the touchscreen. Gorilla Arm would be a major problem ...

How are you liking the difference with sound dampening covers installed? How much of a difference did it really make for you?
I simply did this to maintain the aesthetic of the engine compartment. I've not run the car without them so can't comment on their value or otherwise...

I don't like the seats, they gave me backache. Also my front fog lights don't have bulbs, they are fake.

I like the engine. The acceleration is very good. However, it struggles over 200 km/h, but this is a crossover at the end.

That's a shame you are not finding the seats all that comfortable, as so far we have found them to be okay.
With regard to the Fog Lamps, that seems odd that they don't work, as both the front and rear fog lights on my car do function okay.
The switch (as I'm sure you know) is just behind the side and headlight switch on the indicator arm and should operate when the side lights are on.
Hopefully your dealer will be able to assist in sorting this problem, as there should be bulbs fitted to these lights, unless that is, your country has different lighting regulation covering the use of Fog Lights.

I didn't find the seats uncomfortable. They are soft and comfortable... but too soft and that softness does not support my back.

About the front fog lights; there are concave mirrors but there aren't any holes and sockets for the bulbs. I think the manifacturer cannot leave that area empty because the indicator light and the fog light are a whole unit. So they placed a dummy fog light there. It is nothing about the regulations btw, just cost reduction.

Experienced Mutsibushi users say that all the Mitsubishi cars are produced with standard electrical wiring whether that car has that equipment or not. I will check that if there are wirings and sockets in the front bumper. If yes, i will make a hole on the mirrors and put bulbs there.

You'll also need to check the engine bay relay box to ensure the front fog light starter relay is in place. See the pic attached. If the relay is missing you can buy the item from a dealer but ensure that the blank has four sets of terminals in the open location as it won't be wired without the terminals present. It is the same relay type used for the DRL's, Headlight high beam and a number of other uses in this box. Mitsubishi part number is 8627A030.

This is a rather petty criticism, but why on earth it the heated steering wheel only heated part of the way around? The top section isn't heated. I'd much prefer to cruise with my hands on the top of the wheel than the bottom, which is heated.
